Non-Profit Highlight: Dream Factory Clarksville
The Dream Factory is a non-profit organization dedicated to granting the wishes of children who live with chronic illnesses and/or disorders. The Dream Factory began with an all-volunteer chapter in Hopkinsville, KY, and since has grown to over 37 chapters across the country.
The Dream Factory’s mission statement encapsulates their passion – “We grant dreams to critically and chronically ill children from the ages of three through eighteen”.
Maintained by dedicated volunteers and hard-working individuals, this organization aims to raise funds in order to grant the dreams of children within their local chapter communities. By maintaining the organization through an all-volunteer basis, 96.1% of all money raised is used to grant wishes. This has allowed the charity to be recognized by Charity Navigator, the largest evaluator of charities, as a 4-star rated charity for eight consecutive years. The Clarksville chapter hosts several events throughout the year to raise money for their organization. In 2019, they were recognized as one of the charities in The Best of Clarksville campaign.
It takes a team full of dedicated individuals, careful planning, and a generous giving of funds to help grant a single wish. Granting over 200 wishes since the chapter began, The Dream Factory: Clarksville has made a significant impact on the lives of our community members. Some of the past wishes they have granted include trips to Disneyland, Disney World and Universal Studios, meeting famous individuals such as Dale Earnhardt, installing adapted swing sets and bikes, and even a special graduation guest from movie star Bill Murray.
You can support The Dream Factory: Clarksville in many different ways by volunteering, supporting financially, or becoming involved in community events. Visit their website for more information on how you can make dreams come true!
